Boys I need some HELP!!!

I was outside clearing out some shrubs and what not the other day and I caught a nasty case of posion IVY!!! I haven't been to work in 2 days and its all over my legs, shoulders and forearms. Its all pussie and gross as hell. Oh yea I itch like you wouldn't beleive! I went to the doctor and I'm on meds for 6 days and I'm taking tons of benadryl all day and I still itch!

Here's my question. My buddy wants my girlfriend and I to go out on his boat tomm afternoon. Do you think if I jump right into the salt water it will help clean up all the posion ivy and dry it out? Its the long island sound in Stamford, CT.

Anybody in here ever have a nasty case of posion ivy, and if so WHAT DID YOU DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'M hurting boys, please help!!!!!

The itching at this point is mainly the new tissue forming over the scars. So scratching extends that.

Oh, you can't spread it any further once you're clean, but as I said, scratching delays the healing of the scars, so you'll just itch longer.

Being from CT all know the LI Sound too well, if the salt water doesn't help, the chemicals should.

scratch the affected area until the sores are open and then dump straight bleach on it. It honestly doesnt hurt that bad and will dry it within a day or two as opposed to the week or more it takes with other products. Not recommended for your face, testicles, or any mucous membranes.

Thx boys. We went out on the boat and I jumped in twice. Man it was fucking cold! I let the sun dry it off and alot of the spots on my leg and forearms are dried up which is good. But now that i've gotten home its still itchy as fuck! I hate this shit. oh well, off to take a hot hot shower. thx for the advice fellas.

I am highly allergic to poison ivy. I don't even need to touch the
stuff to get it.

Here is a pic of the last time I caught it.

Notice the crusty puss just oozing down my leg, and then the bloody spot near
my ankle. I had it like this on both thighs, and the nurse said she'd
never seen a case so bad.

For me what works is to get oral steroid
(or shot) to reduce the inflammation,
and then some kind of calamine lotion applied on location to reduce
the itching.

For me, I don't try much activity, and just try to wait it out - as
activity makes mine itch more.

Its ridiculous man. I cant stand it. i am on a steriod pill that I have to take over 6 days. but the itching is unreal.....thx bud
